Yesterday my seven-year-old, who is in a combined second/third grade class at school, said to me,"You know Eli Hernstein, Mom?" "Sure, he was in your kindergarten class," I said, negotiating the shopping cart around a stand of peaches in the produce department. "For current events, he gave a presentation on unlocking your iPhone so you can use it on other services." I came to a halt by the apples and stared down at her. "He what? How do you know about...? He did?" "Yeah." "Isn't that a little, well—" I fumbled for a word, "sophisticated for a second grader?" "Mom," she breathed, rolling her eyes, "he's in third grade. He got moved up." "Oh. Oh, well, then. In that case..."
